Is God Always Drunk?

You've gotta love that perfect state of intoxication. A little more than a buzz, but not quite at the stage of declaring "I'm drunk." If you're like me, this amount of drunkenness is awesome because I just love EVERYBODY. All of a sudden I want to call random people I haven't talked to in years and just tell them that they're great. Literally everyone around me is my best friend and I'm full of compliments. The other night I was in such a state and I was thinking, hey, God loves everybody a lot, I wonder if God is always drunk...
Possibly both.

It's Better than Drinking Alone

Drinking alone kind of has a stigma to it. Fair enough. Although I do enjoy a cold beer after a long day, solitary drunkenness should never be a habit for anyone. Social occasions are much more appropriate. It is more fun to drink with others and it is also safer, more economical, and can be a part of a rich relationship. Spirituality, as the premise of this blog suggests, is similar to drinking. Being spiritual on your own is great, but spirituality is meant for a communal context. This is the premise of a little thing called the Church, ever heard of it?

Free beer

How many of you read the title of the post and your first reaction was to be like "where?" Ya, free beer is one of those great things in life. Free booze in general. The monetary value of the free beer that you get is always completely out of proportion to the immense enjoyment derived from drinking beer that was free. They should do a study on that. Free food is almost as good, but somehow less satisfying, although more useful. Now what if I were to tell you that there will be free booze in God's future kingdom? You wouldn't believe me. But would you believe scripture?
A false promise, probably the Devil's work

What would God Drink?

Perhaps you have heard of WWJD, which stands for "What Would Jesus Do?" It is a popular slogan for wristbands, license plates etc. The point of WWJD is to focus our behavior around the example of Jesus Christ. I would like to ask a new WWJD question though: what would Jesus drink? Keeping in mind that Jesus is God, and having some knowledge on the drink tastes of different kinds of people, I have a hypothesis of what God might order at a bar.

1/2 price drinks at Hades' Night

Welp, it's the first truly hot day of the year and, naturally, it's got me thinking about hell. Hell has long been seen as a really hot place with flames everywhere. The Bible certainly contains images like this, conjuring up "hellfire and brimstone" with "weeping and gnashing of teeth." Hell is definitely not a pleasant place to be, but I have trouble believing that it is merely a fiery wasteland. Why? Well, it's still possible to have a party in the heat.
